Starting Behaviour Support can feel overwhelming. Here's what to expect when you work with us — no surprises, just a calm, clear path forward.

    Referral & allocation

    We start with a referral form, allocate you to a practitioner who's the right fit, and complete a Risk and Needs assessment.

    Connect & build rapport

    Your practitioner takes time to get to know the participant and their supports — gathering information about strengths, passions, history, needs and goals.

    Initial assessment

    We identify any risks and review restrictive practices. If significant risks are present, we provide an Interim Behaviour Support Plan with immediate strategies.

    Functional Behaviour Assessment

    We work to understand the function of the behaviour through observations, data, care team meetings and ongoing information gathering.

    Comprehensive Behaviour Support Plan

    We finalise the FBA and a Comprehensive Behaviour Support Plan — person-centred, individualised and focused on quality of life.

    Implementation & consultation

    We meet regularly with the support team for consultation, training and implementation — making sure the plan lives and breathes in everyday life.

    Reduce restrictive practices

    We work towards gradually fading out unnecessary restrictive practices, in collaboration with the support team and supported by evidence it's safe to do so.

    Monitor, review & celebrate

    We monitor data and progress, review the FBA and CBSP at least yearly, and continue support until behaviour support is no longer needed.
